Youth is action
Because it is time
Our generation faces many economic, ecological and societal challenges. We are convinced of the potential and capacity of youth to meet these challenges by proposing concrete solutions and implementing local actions and initiatives that will impact tomorrow’s world.
theirrrrA field network
Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of young people under the age of 30 who work together to address local, regional and global challenges. With nearly 10,000 members, the Global Shapers community has 422 Hubs in 151 countries.
In each city, teams of Shapers get organized to create projects that meet the needs of their community. The scope of these projects is broad, ranging from disaster response to poverty alleviation or climate change. The Shapers are diverse in terms of expertise, education, income, and background, but they are united by their desire to drive change.
The Shapers are looking for opportunities to make a global impact by partnering with other Hubs. They represent a network of peers connected by technology, events and joint projects. Each year, hundreds of Hub leaders, known as Shapers, come together to showcase the work of their Hub and strengthen relationships between communities. At the regional level, events are designed and led by Shapers to encourage collaboration, share expertise and explore solutions to be implemented within their communities.
The Global Shapers Lyon team now has 16 members with a variety of skills and backgrounds. The associative and entrepreneurial network of our city is rich, with many innovative and impactful initiatives. The diversity of experiences and expertise of our members allows us to support and link these initiatives to maximise their impact. Ultimately, we wish to contribute to the virtuous transformation of this territory, which has the potential to be an example, both nationally and internationally.
