Hiroshima hosted the 2016 meeting of the G7 Foreign Ministers. Prior to this meeting, the Japanese city gave 50 high school students from G7 countries the opportunity to discuss world peace and exchange views.
On this occasion, Global Shapers Lyon accompanied – as part of the selection and preparation process for the conference – young people from the region, aged between 15 and 18, who were interested in the G7 summit and wished to take an active part in the discussion.
A presentation session of their work took place at the Hiroshima International Conference Centre in the Naka district on 20 March and the “Hiroshima Declaration” resolution they drafted was read in English before an audience of around 200 representatives of the G7 nations.
